The Story Behind Personata
Personata didn’t start as a business. It started the day I was asked to give a speech at my son’s wedding, which may sound simple: “Just say a few words.” But the more I thought about it, the more it bothered me. I could tell a couple of funny stories, offer some recycled wisdom, maybe quote something off the internet. It would be fine. Polite. Predictable.
But it wouldn’t really say what I wanted to say to my son — or to his wife.
Years of watching him grow up, then watching him become an even better version of himself when she came into his life. How do you fit that into three minutes with a microphone?
So instead of chasing the “perfect speech,” I started writing a song. I went back through memories, the little details of who he is, the way she steadies him, the way they laugh together. I tried to put their story into melody and lyrics — all the things that don’t always come out right when you’re nervous and holding a piece of paper.
When that song played, the room changed. People went quiet, and then the tears came. In that moment I realized: music can hold a family’s story — and a couple’s story — in a way words alone often can’t.
That’s where Personata began: with one dad, asked to give a wedding speech, realizing that the most honest thing he could say to his son and his new wife… was a song.

The Founders
David and Steve first crossed paths in 1982 at Philadelphia’s WPST, where they discovered a shared obsession with music, radio, and the way a perfectly chosen song can change the temperature of a room. Those early days surrounded by records, consoles, and live microphones shaped how they think about storytelling, sound, and human connection—and planted the seed for everything they would build later on.
Beyond the studio, both went on to spend decades in the world of startups and high-growth companies—launching new ventures, building teams from the ground up, raising capital, navigating mergers and acquisitions, and leading organizations through rapid change. They’ve sat on every side of the table: founder, operator, strategist, and deal-maker, learning how to turn ideas into sustainable, well-run businesses.
In 2022, they brought that experience home to the medium they never stopped loving and co-founded Thasis Radio Network, a growing group of internet stations powered by seasoned professionals. Personata is the next evolution of that work: David and Steve are combining a lifetime in music and audio with deep startup and leadership experience to create custom songs that feel as carefully crafted as any major-label record—but made for one couple, one family, one story at a time.

What is a Personata?
A Personata is a custom song created from your unique story. Through our patent-pending process, we take your memories, emotions, and milestones and transform them into lyrics and melody that capture how it felt, not just how it looked.
Who are Personatas for?
While many of our clients are couples creating a first dance song, a Personata can also be a heartfelt gift from parents, friends, or family. It can be part of the wedding day itself, or a timeless keepsake for anniversaries, vow renewals, birthdays, engagements, graduations, retirements, or any milestone worth celebrating. Whenever there’s a moment too important for ordinary words, a Personata turns it into music that lasts forever.
How is this different from AI song generators?
Unlike AI tools that produce generic, mechanical tracks, every Personata is crafted through a human-centered process. We interview you, listen deeply, and collaborate through revisions to ensure your song reflects the true emotions of your story. Only people can translate love into music that feels alive.
How do I know my Personata song is original?
Every song we create is an independent work. We use a human-led process where our creative team directs AI as an assistive tool—never as a replacement for songwriting. Every piece is built from a blank slate, ensuring it is emotionally authentic and uniquely crafted for you.
Why not do it myself?
Anyone can open an app, type a prompt, and click “generate.” That gets you something. But it rarely gets you the song you hear in your head that you want to sing along with.
At Personata Studios, our work starts before and after that button. We interview you, shape your story into lyrics that actually sing, run multiple AI-enhanced productions, edit and polish the audio, and then deliver a finished song that is “radio quality.”
How does the process work?
It begins with a personal interview where we learn about your story, your style, and the emotions you want to capture. From there, a creative designer is assigned to be your director through the process. Thwy will work with you to craft lyrics and melody through an iterative process, keeping you involved along the way until the song feels exactly right.
What formats do I receive my song in?
Every client receives a high-quality digital file. You can also choose keepsakes like custom vinyl records, framed records, or elegantly printed lyric sheets, so your song can be displayed and passed down for generations.
How long does it take to create a Personata?
Most songs are completed in days, depending on complexity and the level of customization you choose. Rush options are available if your timeline is shorter.
How much does it cost?
Prices begin at $149 and range up to $2,999 for the complete wedding package. Corporate pricing will vary.
Can I be involved in the songwriting?
Absolutely. You will be part of the process — every Personata is built with you, not just for you. Some clients love helping refine lyrics or shaping the musical direction, while others give broader guidance and let us carry the details. Either way, your input is woven into every step, ensuring the final song is unmistakably yours.
What makes Personata unique?
Our focus is on people, not templates. With our patent-pending process, every song is one-of-a-kind, built from your story with care and emotional depth that no off-the-shelf or AI solution can match.
What if I don't like the first version?
Depending on the product/package you chose, we allow for multiple revisions until we get the song you love.
Who are the song writers?
Personata maintains a staff of experienced personnel that know what makes a broadcast quality song versus just an AI generated one.
When can we book for our wedding?
As with anything regarding your wedding, the sooner the better. We need time to interview you, and anyone else that is involved in the song crafting process. Then there are multiple revisions that each take time to craft. The minimum for a wedding is two weeks.
Can we use it on social media?
All except our “Verse” product will be fully licensed to use on social media. Each song will come with a certificate and an ISRC code?
An ISRC code is a unique tracking ID assigned to a specific recording so streaming platforms can identify it and report plays accurately.
What if a song sounds like something I’ve heard before?
With millions of songs globally, accidental “sonic overlap” is a statistical reality of the universal musical scale. However, any resemblance to existing works is purely coincidental. We do not use reference tracks or “templates” of famous songs; every Personata is an original creation designed to stand on its own.
Does Personata use "Deepfakes" or artist voice clones?
Absolutely not. We have a zero-tolerance policy for imitating specific artists or vocalists. We believe in Ethical AI, which means creating new expressions rather than unauthorized imitations of human creators.
Is Personata Studios insured?
Yes. We take our professional responsibilities seriously. Personata Studios carries comprehensive Professional Liability and Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance. This coverage reflects our commitment to legal integrity and provides our clients and brand partners with an added layer of security and peace of mind regarding the originality of our work.
Who owns the rights to my Personata?
Because our process involves significant human creative direction and refinement, we provide clear licensing or ownership terms (depending on your package) that allow you to use your song confidently for personal or commercial purposes (The Verse excluded) without fear of copyright “takedowns.”
Are there payment plans?
Yes, our payment plans are available through both Stripe and PayPal.
